Gyro calibration
Building a test unit for calibrating gyroscopes inside consumer electronics
A gimbal setup was made with 2 stages of our standard RT-BT range. These ball bearing stages with strong torque motors enable the highest dynamic movements without compromising the micrometer level precision.
The gyroscopes can be easily calibrated thanks to the excellent positional stability and low vibration levels. This decreases setup and calibration time and speeds up production. The RT-BT series rotary stages are robust and ideally suited for continuous operation in harsh environments.
Low speed rotary stage setup for characterizing bias stability
Autonomous driving cars have a need for better and better gyroscopes. Our customer needed a solution to accurately measure their bias instability of 0,0005 °/hour and the scale factor. A system was made around the RT250S air bearing rotary stage. Thanks to its frictionless bearing, zero cogging direct drive motor and high resolution encoder it allowed the unit to rotate at extreme low speeds with high speed stability.

“Our RT-BT rotary stages are ideally suited for operation in harsh environments.”
